About Me

My name is Holly Wallace, and I'm a Web Designer/Web Developer living in Austin, Texas. In June 2012, I graduated from The Art Institute of Houston with a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in Web Design & Interactive Media. Google +

I first started working with web programming languages when I was about twelve or thirteen years old, and by age fifteen I was designing websites for clubs and organizations at school. After graduating high school, I enrolled in The Art Institute to become a professional web designer & developer.

In June of 2009, I become a web design intern at Baker Hughes Incorporated and by March 2010 I had become a contract web designer for the company. I have kept full time hours as a student and worker for the past three years, all while maintaining a 3.5 GPA. I continued to work for Baker Hughes Incorporated until February of 2013.

Most recently I worked for Rooster Teeth Productions as a PHP Developer.

I am extremely well versed in HTML & CSS, and have begun applying the new techniques in HTML5 & CSS3. I also have worked with Javascript, PHP, MySQL, Ajax, jQuery, and XML. At the Art Institute I have also gained experience in graphic design, flash, videography & video editing, and photography.

When not working, I enjoy reading, playing video games, and going to local concerts. I'm also currently learning French in my free time.

About the Website

This is my personal website and online portfolio. When designing this website, I wanted to do something fun and whimsical that would reflect my personality as well as my skills as a designer. I wanted to imagine what would be left behind in the aftermath of an epic celebration, which is why I named this theme Aprés la Fête, meaning "after the party," in French.

I used a combination of HTML, CSS, CSS3, Ajax, & jQuery to design this website. The photographs used in this design were taken by Aaron Bazan, a photography student at The Art Institute of Houston.

For more information about this website's design, you can download the Process Book for this website, or view the short documentary, The Making of Aprés la Fête, posted below.
